We intend to identify the source of your horse’s problem and prepare a strategy to reestablish its health and soundness. Although a lot can be gleaned from your initial submission package, ongoing dialogue with our team will ultimately optimize both your experience and your horse’s eventual outcome.
GETTING THE INFORMATION WE NEED, WHEN WE NEED IT
Veterinary diagnosis is a step-by-step exercise, often entailing a process of elimination. With each step we get a little closer to procuring your horse’s diagnosis. Depending on the nature of the problem, additional information, diagnostic imaging, and/or visual assessments may be indicated in order to move onto the next phase of investigation.
Be prepared to hear from us at anytime during the consultation; we may request more footage, photos, history, or local veterinary input prior to proceeding further. The quicker you get back with us the quicker we get your answer.
WORKING WITH YOUR LOCAL VETERINARY TEAM
Regardless of whether we are working through our own Veterinary-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR) or one maintained by your local veterinarian, establishing a close and professional relationship with the primary caretaker(s) is crucial to our success. Since your regular practitioner will likely be the one responsible for performing additional diagnostic tests and/or implementing treatment, he or she will have to be intimately involved with the process from start-to-finish.
Please note that our service is not intended to “go around” or “go behind” your local veterinary team. In the end, we want to ensure that you and your horses are receiving the best care possible; this means that the entirety of your veterinary team must be on board at all times.
